Dear Parents/Guardians,
With the recent lifting of the evacuation order for the Town of Edson, it is encouraging to
hear that staff and families are making their way back to the community. We have been
informed that bussing by GYPSD will resume for students on May 10, 2023, therefore,
schools will reopen on May 10, 2023 as per regular operations.
We are committed to providing a safe and caring environment for your children as they
return to the community and trust that families will make decisions in the best interests of
their child/dren as to when they return to school. For staff or students who are having
difficulties during this time, please be reminded that we have full time Mental Health
supports available at each site that can be accessed if necessary.
We continue to keep those most impacted by the wildfires in our prayers and we pray for
the safety of our students, staff and those who are courageously doing their utmost to battle
the wildfires.
