January 8, 2021
Dear Valued Living Waters Staff and Parent/Guardians of Living Waters Students,
As you may have already heard, the Premier Jason Kenney announced yesterday that across
Alberta, all schools and school authorities will be resuming in-person classes effective Monday,
January 11, 2021. Health measures remain in place and must be followed.
A return to in-person classes has many benefits for our students’ learning, mental health, and
well being. At Living Waters Catholic Separate Schools, our priority remains focused on the
health, well-being, safety and learning of our students and staff.
It is expected that all staff, students and parents will continue to follow strict health measures
that are in place in order to limit the risk of transmission of COVID, such as:
1. Respecting physical distancing guidelines
2. Practicing proper hand washing hygiene
3. Wearing masks whenever necessary
4. Doing daily health screens and checks
5. Sanitization and frequent cleaning of high touch surfaces
I encourage everyone to be vigilant in doing their part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19,
keeping everyone safe and healthy as a result. If a staff member or student are experiencing
any symptoms or they are ill, please stay at home and return to school only when it is safe to do
so.
Our Division and schools will continue to take our direction from the Ministry of Education and
from the Alberta Chief Medical Officer of Health. We will continue to provide updated
communications when necessary and whenever appropriate. Please continue to contact your
child’s teacher or school administration, if you have questions or concerns.
I want to extend my appreciation and gratitude to all staff, students, parents and family
members who have demonstrated flexibility and a high level of adaptability during these
challenging times. I recognize it is a true testimony of your commitment and hard work to do
what is right for the good of all. Together we have got this, and I look forward to continued
learning in a safe and healthy faith filled environment. I pray that our schools will remain open,
safe and healthy learning environments for all.
Yours in Christ,
Jo-Anne Lanctot
Superintendent
