This past week, my two youngest children were eagerly telling me about what kind of teacher they think I should be coming into HRH. It was quite amusing.
I later asked my oldest child, having spent the most time instructing him and his peers, what kind of teacher he thinks I should be. He looked at me puzzled and simply said, "Be the teacher you have been for 20 years."
I intend to do just that.
After graduating from the University of Alberta, I taught in Spruce Grove and Parkland County. I now join Holy Redeemer as a teacher who believes in the small moments that turn on bright lights and in planting seeds with hopes of inspiring lifelong learners. I aspire to guide and instruct on content from within curriculum in hopes of it being yet another positive piece of what contributes to the creation of a responsible citizen in our community.
I will continue on that path.
Outside of school I enjoy road trips, playing/watching sports, being creative with food and plants, camping, running a small beef cattle operation with my husband and children as well as marvelling in God's creation down at the river.
I also enjoy reading for entertainment and education. My favourite literature highlights characters or themes of how one individual truly can make a difference in the lives of many. I think we can all take a page from that!
