Football All-Star

Holy Redeemer Graduate Jordan Willox became one of the first players from Alberta to play at the annual CAN-AM Bowl. This marks the 21st year of the game and that features Canadian and American players squaring off in an all-star football game. In addition, Willox was the only player from Northern Alberta and was the Team Canada's quarterback. The game, which was played on July 8th in blistering 30 degree heat, saw a very high calibre of play. Throughout the game, Willox threw for five touchdowns and had over 200 yards in passing. He was also the team's kicker and was a perfect 5 for 5 in conversions. Canada fought hard, but after giving up 32 points in the first quarter they were in a deep hole. Going into halftime the score was 51-9 for the USA. The second half of the game was all Canada as they out-played their southern counterparts making for a very exciting finish. The final score was 67-49 for the US. Needless to say, Canada, Alberta, Edson, and Holy Redeemer were very well represented!
