Two Holy Redeemer students, who happen to be siblings, really showcased their athletic skills at the GYAC Track & Field Meet in late May. Alex and Levi Beckmann both received awards for the Top Athlete at the 2017 Meet. Alex won the Top Female Athlete and winning gold in the high jump, long jump, shot put, triple jump, hurdles, and 200m, while Levi won the Top Male Athlete after winning gold in the 100m and winning the silver medal in javelin, triple jump, hurdles, and winning the bronze medal in the 400m.

And the HRH senior high Track & Field team competed in provincials on June 2 and 3 in Edmonton. Here, grade 10 student Justin Breault (Bro) won the gold medal in the javelin. Not only did he win the gold but he crushed everyone else in his category and threw the javelin farther than any grade 11 or 12 student as well.

On June 7th, the junior high students at Holy Redeemer participated in the annual Sports Day. Students are divided into teams and play against one another in some very fun filled games including floor hockey, soccer, kick-ball, dodgeball, and ultimate frisbee. Overall, everyone had a great day and enjoyed the gorgeous weather. "This follows my philosophy of active bodies-active minds," says Sports Day Organizer Peter Saik. "And it's always awesome seeing the students have so much fun." Here, all the grade 7 to 9 students pose for a silly photo at the end of the day.
