COVID-19 & School Closures

March 16, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

With the most recent announcement by the Chief Medical Officer of Health to cancel all K-12 classes indefinitely, our staff, administration and schools are planning forward as we continue to receive further details and direction from the Ministry.  Teachers and administrators will be working on a plan to deliver quality programming. The details have yet to be determined, and we ask for your patience as we undertake this very important task. Please wait for further communication. Our focus remains on our students and ensuring they're able to learn, grow and achieve despite the current circumstances.

Our schools are making plans to determine the best way to provide that access to avoid putting staff, students or family members at risk. Our schools will reach out to each of you with more details.

I know you're receiving a great deal of information in a very short period and are doubtlessly concerned about the impact of the decision to close schools on your children. We commit to keeping you informed as the situation evolves and will endeavour to answer all your questions in the days ahead.

Again, thank you for your patience and I ask that you pray for all those impacted by the COVID-19 virus and for those who continue to do service to ensure the work continues.

Yours respectfully,

Jo-Anne Lanctot

Superintendent
