Football Selection Camp at HRH

Over the past six years, the Holy Redeemer Football Program has continued to grow and expand. So much so, that HRH players are now playing key leadership roles throughout the league.

On May 4th and 11th, there were two major Selection Camps run by HRH Head Coach Mike Bachinsky to select players for the Six-Man Football All Star Game. This marks the fifth year the game and selection camps, and marks the first year that Bachisnky will serve as the North All Star Team’s Head Coach. “It’s very exciting and a valuable opportunity to gain experience and further my coaching career,” says Bachinsky. “In addition, this game helps put six man football in Alberta on the map and holds the ability to showcase the great talent these athletes possess.”

The All Star Game features the best six man football players against each other in a North Vs South show down. This year’s game will take place in Lacombe on May 20th.

Holy Redeemer and Edson has always been very well represented at these games with both players and coaches participating. This year will feature six players from HRH on the North Team: Landon Schutz (Quarterback), Garrett Inscho (Running Back), Ryhker Lamabe (Wide Receiver), Neil Korolischuk (Tight End), Jaden Langridge (Tight End), and Tyrell Zaporosky (Defensive End).

“It’s an honour to represent my school and community on such a large scale,” says Quarterback and grade 11 student Landon Schutz.

Each year numerous scouts attend the game and two years ago HRH athlete Jordan Willox was scouted and selected to Team Canada’s Six Man roster.

Before the game takes place on May 20th, the team will practice at Burman University on May 18th and 19th.
