Dessert Theatre Tickets on Sale
With the temperatures now reaching the plus side of 0 and the snow is beginning to melt, it’s time to get ready for Holy Redeemer’s Dessert Theatre.
Tickets are now on sale for the annual event that will feature three one-act plays over the two night event.
“We are very excited to showcasing these plays,” says Drama Teacher Peter Taylor. “The students have been working on them for the past five to six weeks. There’s still some very important work to be done, but we know audiences will be in for a real treat.”
The Dessert Theatre is scheduled for April 12th and 13th, 7 pm at HRH.
As per tradition, there will be two senior plays and one junior high play. The senior high plays are entitled Hello Darkness My Old Friend (directed by grade 12 student Alaina Furegati) and You Do Love Me, Don’t Know? (directed by grade 12 student Kiley Bischke). The junior high play is called This Is a Text.
“We believe we have a diverse set of plays that all audience members will find something for them,” says Taylor. “Both senior high plays are dramas, but both are very different. The junior show is a comedy so audiences will leave in good spirits.”
Tickets for the Dessert Theatre are $10 each and are available at the HRH Office.
And what would a Dessert Theatre be without the desserts? Each year, dedicated parents donate a variety of desserts to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. Desserts will be $2 a slice (for the biggest slice you’ve ever seen) and will be available at the door.
After the Dessert Theatre, all three plays will represent HRH at the Zone Drama Festival. Holy Redeemer has won a number of awards over the last 15 years, including 16 Best Production awards.
So with a just a month to go to the big Dessert Theatre, be sure to get your tickets soon.
